Luxury Bathroom Renovation
This south Winnipeg home had a very spacious ensuite bathroom, however it was severely outdated and in desperate need of updating. It had the potential to be much more roomy and open, and make better use of the space and loads of windows in the room (something that is fairly rare in a bathroom, especially an ensuite). This bathroom renovation project began by removing some unnecessary obstructions in the room. The questionable dividing walls isolating the toilet may have seemed like a nice idea at the time the home was built, but all it did was make the space feel awkward so they needed to be removed. The big soaker jet tub was a maintenance nightmare, was well worn, and again had an unnecessary half wall at the end of it. It all had to go. The cheap corner shower was no longer being used because the drain had been leaking for years. After opening up the space we were able to really start this bath remodel. The partition walls near the toilet were concealing plumbing ventilation, so we completely re-routed to keep the space free of obstruction.
We constructed a custom tile shower which has a beautiful linear drain, 12” x 24” polished porcelain tile, glass door, and quartz shower curb that matches the quartz vanity counter top. We installed custom built maple cabinets, and made new woodwork for the windows to match. The maple trim of the windows integrated a custom made ledge cap that served to transition the granite wall stone to windows. A large free standing tub and faucet is an elegant upgrade from the previous tub, while still being very deep and spacious. The stone on the wall and the tub are highlighted by waterproof in floor LED lighting. The entire floor is waterproofed and heated using Schluter Systems products, expertly installed by our trained and certified crew.
Another stunning bathroom transformation by the Hammerdown team.
