A home renovation rich in texture
Our client had specific tastes and ideas for their bathroom remodel. This wartime home was brought into the 21st century with a custom built walk in tile shower. The natural stone wall tile is warm, inviting, and it is hard to resist running your hand over it to get a feel for the rich texture it contains. The accent mosaic tile border that runs along the three walls of the shower expands to fill the back of the custom built in niche for a really charming look. While a linear drain is our preferred method with tile shower bases, we offer other options to meet every clients needs. This is a good example of an alternative shower pan, with mosaic tile and a more traditional center drain. The curb is also completely wrapped in tile, another alternative to our typical installation using stone cap.
A glass door with very little hardware keeps the view of the tile open. The tile floor in the bathroom is also heated using Schluter Systems Ditra Heat, keeping it cozy even through the long Winnipeg winters.
