We completed this bathroom renovation for a couple of lovely clients. The space is a truly unique bathroom design that walks the line between moody and cozy with elegance!

The bathroom design project brief – “different than anything else!”

Their project brief was to have a luxurious and dramatic bathroom, yet different from anything they’d seen before. As we continued to work closely together to help plan their bathroom renovation transformation, the clients put their complete trust in us to pull off a bold, black bathroom design while ensuring that it didn’t feel like stepping into a black hole!

Multi-dimensional, moody lighting reaches all the right spots

As with any windowless space that is also painted black, the most crucial aspect of the project was sufficient layered lighting. Leading with a large backlit LED mirror as a focal point, we blended strategically-positioned pot lights for ample ambient light with a statement pendant that creates a starlit atmosphere – setting the perfect tone for an out-of-this-world bathing experience.

Material selection in soft white and bright tones is an essential source of reflective light

Using Vicostone: Onyx white quartz countertop for softness and a vanity comprised of soft-touch matte melamine in dark charcoal black and textured woodgrain melamine with low profile handles help bring warmth. Baril chrome vanity and shower faucets and fixtures throughout gleam the light sources creating visually-mesmerizing details within the slab matte textured black stone shower tile supplied by Ames.

The space is rounded out and grounded with black luxury vinyl tile resembling marble and wall and ceiling paint from Benjamin Moore Wrought Iron.

This dramatic bathroom renovation is both neutral and timeless and will keep their guests talking!
