When our clients came to us, their kitchen was functional — but only just.
Storage was scattered, the layout was working against them, and the space lacked the visual identity it deserved. They wanted their kitchen renovation to be warm but modern, organized but unfussy, built to actually work for how they live.
A kitchen renovation palette that does the heavy lifting
The design is deliberate and layered. Upper cabinets in off-white shaker keep things bright and open, while the lower cabinets and floor-to-ceiling pantry wall shift into white oak with a vertical grain, bringing warmth and texture where the eye naturally falls.
The island anchors it all in slate blue, giving the space a focal point with real personality. Minimalist matte black slim pulls run throughout, tying every surface together with a sharp, modern edge.
Surfaces worth gushing over
White quartz with subtle gray veining runs across the perimeter counters, clean and timeless. The island takes it further with a waterfall edge, carrying the stone vertically down to the floor on both sides.
The backsplash keeps pace: glossy smoky blue-gray kit-kat tile, laid horizontally with light gray grout, pulling the cooler tones of the palette together. Underfoot, luxury vinyl plank in a light weathered gray completes the picture, flush-mounted for a seamless transition between rooms.
Storage that actually solves problems
The lower cabinetry ditches standard cupboard doors entirely in favour of a deep-drawer system. Those large drawer fronts conceal something even smarter inside — a tiered drawers-within-drawers setup, where cutlery and linens sit above deeper storage for pots and pans.
The floor-to-ceiling pantry wall centralizes all dry goods into one high-density zone, keeping the primary workspace clear. A custom vertical wine rack is integrated directly into the wood-faced pantry wall, serving a purpose without disrupting the design.
Lighting, layered and intentional
A matte black LED ring pendant hangs over the island. A six-light chandelier with white glass shades warms the dining area. Recessed pot lights provide consistent ambient illumination throughout, three layers working together as one.
The result is a kitchen that looks like it was always meant to be this way.
