This kitchen renovation was all about giving the space a fresh, open feel while making it more functional. The first step was swapping the old back entry door for a new exterior door and frame. The homeowners were thrilled to see the dated door go, and the new one instantly made the space feel more polished.
Kitchen renovation opens up the space
To help open the space, we doubled the size of the entry from the kitchen to the dining room. The homeowners couldn’t believe how this simple change made a massive difference.
The floors also got a significant upgrade. Bright, durable vinyl plank flooring that now flows seamlessly into the back landing and down the basement stairs. It’s a small detail that ties everything together and gives the home a more cohesive look.
Kitchen cabinet features that make a big difference
For storage, we installed new custom cabinets featuring a unique deep sage green colour. The new cabinets have all the little details that make a kitchen easier to use—such as a spice pullout, deep pantry drawers, a large undermount sink, and a double garbage pullout. Since the kitchen had poor lighting, we added LED pot lights and undercabinet lighting from Robinson Lighting to brighten things up.
To complete the interior design aesthetic, we installed a beautiful ceramic tile backsplash that looks and feels like hand-crafted Moroccan tile supplied by Ames Tile. It adds just the right amount of texture and character to the space.
The homeowners love their kitchen renovation transformation, with the space being brighter, more open, and better suited to their everyday life.
