Our returning client wanted the room to fit the style of her home, and we happily obliged with her unique vision. However, she didn’t want to give up on the modern conveniences she craved just because she wished for the kitchen renovation to do a retro rewind.

To start the kitchen renovation project, we reconfigured the layout by upgrading her windows and opening the view to her backyard. Not only did the space become brighter, but it allowed for more functional storage. We also centred her range in the middle of her counter space, creating balance.

For the retro kitchen renovation interior design details, we:

• Customized a solid surface countertop with a chrome edge
• Added a scalloped valence above the refrigerator
• Installed one-of-a-kind striped flooring
• Included finishing touches like retro light fixtures, hardware, and sink faucet
• Ensured the kitchen has many nods to retro style with crisp, Decorator’s white slab-door cabinets, subtle touches of colours with the countertops and backsplash in Formica Everform in Sea Glass
• Installed one-of-a-kind Tarkett Johnsonite Vinyl flooring in fazed grey, beach stone, light green quartz

The kitchen renovation allowed us to bring in tons of modern conveniences to make our client’s time in the kitchen much more enjoyable. Some of the modern touches are:

• Under-cabinet lighting
• Under-mount kitchen sink
• High-quality Delta Broderick Widespread faucet in chrome
• A dishwasher is hidden with appliance panelling that matches the cabinets

The outcome is a kitchen renovation with many nods to retro style, but it still feels current, and best of all, completely unique to our client!
