This home renovation project we recently completed was nothing short of dramatic. Our client had a clear vision in mind – to create an open, modern space that was both functional and stylish. With a complete re-work of the space, including the removal of a wall and installation of a beam, we were able to transform the home from a closed-off space into a bright, open and inviting living space.

Clearing the slate as we start this kitchen renovation

The kitchen renovation details are extensive and start with removing a wall and installing a beam to create better flow and sightlines throughout the space. The old kitchen was relocated to the previous dining room, and we used a combination of natural walnut and midnight-stained oak cabinets to create a stunning centrepiece. The unique mix of finishes gave the kitchen a bold, modern feel that was perfectly suits to our client’s tastes.

Kitchen design choices that delight

We integrated custom cabinets that seamlessly fit the high-end appliances in a practical and gorgeous manner. The custom cabinet colour combination of natural walnut and midnight-stained oak cabinets and Vicostone Tartufo quartz countertops in dark matte charcoal is a bold choice. It meshes perfectly with the marble look large format LVT flooring by Fuzion Flooring.

Behind the cabinets, the matte white penny round Julian tile backsplash that was custom installed added texture and depth to the space. Then, the geometric statement chandelier and industrial-style faucet in brushed steel added a touch of modern elegance, completing our client’s desired look.

Striking and dramatic features make this kitchen renovation shine

One of the most striking features of the renovation is the custom wine display and bar cabinet. We knew this feature would be essential to the interior design, so we worked diligently to create an elegant and functional storage solution. The walnut accents on the island and custom wine storage complemented the other pieces of the kitchen design, creating a cohesive look that was truly breathtaking.

We also created a floating credenza in the dining room that doubled as a beautiful display piece. This unique storage solution was perfect for showcasing our client’s art collection while providing much-needed storage space.
