Multiple renovations can carry a theme

Our returning clients gave us a call when they were ready to update their main bathroom. We previously completed a successful ensuite bathroom renovation that left them ecstatic with the work. They came to expect Hammerdown’s quality craftsmanship and integrity – and they didn’t want to do a home renovation any other way!

Working together on multiple projects means that extra care is given to ensure a renovation is keeping with previous updates and future plans for the home.

Main bathroom renovation receives modern details

The new main bathroom uses soft colours to feel relaxing and spa-like. Modern details include a large, custom-built vanity cabinet with a natural stone Bianco Antico Granite countertop that matches the shelves in the shower. The bathroom design is tied together with an off-white, cream-coloured custom tile that is found in the shower and as the backsplash. The faucet fixtures and shower system combines oil-rubbed bronze and brushed nickel finishes for added visual appeal.

We matched the oak baseboard and casing to the rest of the house. The bathroom has tall ceilings and we removed the bulkhead over the shower during the renovation to maximize the openness.

In the shower, we inset a tile band in a contrasting pattern and scale but kept the colour palette light for subtle texture. The rest of the custom tiles are large format slab tiles used from floor to ceiling and continued as the flooring. The custom drain design is from Schluter Systems.

The bathroom renovation result was exactly as our clients wished – with our design-build team bringing their vision to life. As a continuation of the previous home renovation work, the new bathroom renovation will be a lovely space for their guests to use.
