We created a basement suite for our recent project, Yuna that will continue to serve the homeowner for years to come.
The basement renovation began as a blank slate
The project started with a nearly blank slate, as we were working with a previously unfinished basement. After consulting with our client, we orchestrated a modern design that’s bright and refreshing with a bold edge!
Bold, moody cabinetry, textural neutral tiling, and a pop of colour keep this lower-level feeling like anything but a dark, dingy basement.
Basement renovations can help provide functional space
Many basements can lack functionality when compared to their upstairs counterparts. As part of the basement renovations, we carefully ensured each space we were creating focused on usability and design. As part of the plan, we divided the floor plan into two bedrooms, a bathroom with a laundry area, and a kitchenette.

The newly refreshed space is also stunning to look at! The finishes feature cabinets in textured melamine in storm (colour) with vertical grain. Countertops rest atop the cabinets: Vicostone Onyx White, a backsplash created using Ames Bera and Beren Hex in white, and matte black hardware.
Then, the wall colour using Benjamin Moore Classic Grey and the flooring laid down with Cascade LVP in Trailhead Natural (white oak look) – round out the space to perfection.
