Faced with a dated kitchen in an inefficient layout, the client was looking for a contemporary style that would make the most of the limited square footage. After removing the old kitchen and upgrading plumbing and electrical, we were able to implement a far better kitchen design, that much better utilized the available space.
The U-shape kitchen design was completely scrapped, and instead we extended the main bank of cabinets all the way across the entire back wall. The lower cabinets feature draws and specialized pull outs to make them much more efficient for storage. The extension doubled the available counter space, and allowed for a new integrated bench seat with storage next to the back patio door.
A large island with centred sink was installed with an extension for bar seating. The dark cabinets, a grey brown finish on maple, are balanced out by a bright white quartz countertop. As well, the glass backsplash in a contemporary tile pattern added a high end finish.
We were pleased with the outcomes and most importantly, the client was ecstatic with the completed project.
